The Allen & Heath AB168 AudioRack is a portable 48kHz remote I/O expansion solution designed for Qu, Avantis, and SQ digital mixers, as well as AHM audio matrix processors. Built around Allen & Heath’s proven dSNAKE technology, the AB168 enables audio inputs and outputs to be positioned up to 100 meters away from the main mixer using a single Cat5e connection, providing greater flexibility for stage, venue, and installation environments.

Equipped with 16 high-quality microphone preamps, the AB168 delivers up to +60 dB of gain and includes phantom power indicators along with a -20 dB pad for handling line-level sources. The unit also provides 8 balanced XLR line outputs with relay protection, ensuring reliable signal distribution for monitors, amplifiers, and other audio equipment. The remote AudioRack integrates seamlessly with compatible Allen & Heath systems, allowing fast deployment without complex configuration requirements.

A dedicated Expander port supports daisy-chaining of up to two compatible expanders or direct connection to the ME Personal Mixing System, giving performers independent monitor control. Firmware synchronization is handled automatically through the connected mixer, simplifying setup and maintenance.

Designed for demanding live sound applications, the AB168 features a rugged enclosure with durable rubber bumpers that protect the unit during transportation and on-stage use. Its lightweight construction and integrated carry handle make it easy to transport between venues. For fixed or touring installations, an optional 19-inch rackmount kit is available, allowing the AudioRack to be securely installed within standard equipment racks while maintaining convenient access to all connections.
