The Allen & Heath GX4816 is a professional 96 kHz audio expander designed to provide large-scale remote I/O expansion for compatible Allen & Heath mixing systems and audio matrix processors. Built for demanding live sound, broadcast, installed audio, and touring applications, the GX4816 delivers high channel density with exceptional audio quality and flexible deployment options.

Equipped with 48 fully recallable dLive microphone preamps, the GX4816 offers precise gain control, low-noise performance, and independent phantom power indication on every input. The preamps support a wide input sensitivity range and feature switchable -20 dB pads, making them suitable for both microphone and line-level sources. Sixteen balanced XLR line outputs provide reliable signal distribution with relay protection for enhanced operational security.

The unit integrates seamlessly with Qu, SQ, Avantis, dLive, and AHM systems, allowing engineers to significantly expand available input and output capacity without additional configuration. Firmware management is handled automatically through the connected mixer, enabling true plug-and-play operation and reducing setup time.

Two dedicated DX expansion ports allow connection of additional DX-series expanders, extending system flexibility and increasing available I/O resources. When used with compatible SQ and Avantis systems, the GX4816 can also connect directly to the ME Personal Mixing System, giving performers individual monitor control capabilities.

Designed for stage and installation environments, the GX4816 supports remote placement up to 100 meters from the mixer via its GX etherCON connection. Its rugged stagebox-style chassis includes integrated rack ears for installation in a standard 5U 19-inch rack.
