Bose ControlSpace EX-8ML 8-channel mic/GPIO Dante endpoint
The Bose Professional ControlSpace EX-8ML is the highest-capacity microphone endpoint in the ControlSpace EX accessory family, offering eight channels of microphone or line-level input in a single Dante-networked unit. It is designed for rooms with a larger number of local microphone connections, such as boardrooms, lecture halls, or divisible meeting spaces.
Each of the eight input channels is converted to Dante audio and carried back to the connected ControlSpace EX processor over the network, removing the need to run individual analog microphone cables across the room. General-purpose input and output connections are also included, allowing the EX-8ML to interface with buttons, indicator lights, or other control hardware as part of the room’s overall control scheme.
As with the smaller EX-4ML and EX-UH endpoints, the EX-8ML draws both power and network connectivity from a single Cat-5/6 cable using PoE, and multiple endpoints can be daisy-chained from a shared power source. This keeps wiring consistent and predictable across a project that may use several endpoint types in different rooms.
Configuration takes place in ControlSpace Designer software, where autodiscovery and auto-routing simplify bringing the EX-8ML online alongside other Dante devices. The unit’s low-profile aluminium housing is designed for discreet placement under tables, in equipment closets, or within furniture, depending on where microphone connections are required.
