The Lexicon BOB-32 Breakout Box is a rack-mounted audio interface designed to convert digital audio channels from the BLU link network bus into analog outputs. Built for use alongside Lexicon’s QuantumLogic Immersion processor (QLI-32), the BOB-32 gives integrators a straightforward way to bring immersive, multi-channel cinema and large-venue audio systems out to analog amplifier and loudspeaker inputs without requiring a dedicated software configuration step for every channel.

Channel selection on the BOB-32 is handled through six rear-panel DIP switches, which allow any 32 consecutive channels to be chosen from the 256 channels available on the BLU link digital audio bus. This hardware-based configuration approach means the unit can be deployed and reconfigured quickly on site, without a laptop or specialized commissioning software, which is particularly useful in large cinema, theme park, and stadium installations where multiple breakout points are required.

Connectivity is provided through four DB-25F connectors carrying the 32 analog outputs, alongside dual RJ45 Ethernet-style ports for BLU link daisy-chaining across Category 5e cabling at distances of up to 100 meters between compatible devices. Front panel LED indicators give installers immediate visual confirmation of signal presence and power status, simplifying fault-finding during commissioning and ongoing maintenance of the audio distribution network.

With low latency digital-to-analog conversion, wide dynamic range, and robust chassis construction, the Lexicon BOB-32 is built to perform reliably in demanding, always-on installed sound environments.
