The Allen & Heath DX012 is a professional 96 kHz output expander designed to extend the output capabilities of Allen & Heath SQ and dLive digital mixing systems. Housed in a compact 1U rackmount chassis, the DX012 provides flexible analog and digital output expansion for live sound, broadcast, installed audio, and touring applications.

Equipped with 12 configurable XLR outputs, the DX012 offers versatile routing options to suit a wide range of system requirements. Outputs can be configured as 12 analog line outputs, 8 analog outputs with 4 stereo AES outputs, or 4 analog outputs with 8 stereo AES outputs. This flexibility allows engineers to integrate both analog and digital audio equipment within the same system while maintaining high-resolution 96 kHz audio performance.

The DX012 connects to compatible Allen & Heath hardware through a secure EtherCon connection using standard Cat5e or higher network cabling. A secondary locking EtherCon port supports redundant connections for enhanced reliability or can be used to daisy-chain additional DX expanders for larger installations. Cascade mode allows multiple DX units to be linked together, significantly increasing available system outputs without complex configuration.

Designed for simple deployment, the DX012 operates on a plug-and-play basis with no IP addressing or network setup required. The expander integrates directly with compatible SQ and dLive systems, with all routing and control managed from the connected mixer. Support for multiple DX012 units enables substantial system scalability, making it suitable for large-scale venues, performance spaces, houses of worship, and corporate installations.
